To Whom It May Concern:
I met Harrison Keely in October, 2007 and was quite impressed with this young man.
During that time, I was on the faculty of the Collegiate Journalism Conference and had the privilege of reviewing his portfolio and counseling him in his career path.
As a former teacher, and now as Editorial Director of nine Focus on the Family publications, including the Focus on the Family magazines and the Focus on Your Child newsletters, I know talent when I see it. As former editor of Focus on the Family magazine, LifeWise magazine, Single-Parent Family magazine and former curriculum writer for the Association of Christian Schools International, I know gifted people when I see them. I’ve written hundreds of articles and columns for magazines and newspapers, and have a book coming out in a few weeks, Countdown for Couples: Preparing for the Adventure of Marriage, so I know what it takes to be a writer/journalist.
When I reviewed Harrison’s portfolio, I was excited to meet this young man. He’s a self-starter, diverse as a writer, ambitious and a man with a vision for making a difference in his world. He loves to write, to meet people and to strive in excelling in what he does.
In the short time of getting to know him, Harrison’s personality exuded a love for people, and seeing him interact with others throughout the conferences proved that to be true. He seemed to have a great working relationship with his peers as well as everyone he met.
Sincerely,
Susan Graham Mathis
